Crantock is a popular holiday destination for families, groups and couples that are looking for a coastal break in Cornwall. Whilst Crantock is quiet coastal village that is only 1o minutes away from Newquay.
On hot days you can spend as much time as you like on the sandy beach. Crantock Beach is very popular with surfers, it’s a spectacular beach that is backed by sand dunes. If your feeling up to some exploring take a walk down the coastal path which leads to a sandy cove called Porth Joke. This is an unspoilt cove that hasn’t changed for hundreds of years, it’s surrounded by National Trust land.
Choosing to stay in a holiday cottage in Crantock you will get a good feel for Cornish life. Whilst most cottages have well equipped kitchens there is bound to be times when you want to eat out. There are a few pubs and restaurants in the nearby area that you might like to try.
Tripadvisor recommends The Old Albion Inn which is a traditional pub in Crantock itself. Apparently the Sunday Lunches are very good indeed, another pub that offers home cooked food is the Cornishman Inn which is located in the heart of Crantock, this is a dog friendly pub so you won’t need to leave your pet back at the cottage . Of course one of the nice things about having good pubs close to your holiday cottage is that you can take a walk and have a drink or 2.
